Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas celebrated an extra “lit” Holi celebration this year.
The married couple celebrated the Hindu holiday this week at a private home in Los Angeles. This is their first festival of colours, welcoming the start of spring as parents. The celebration took place almost two months later when they announced that they had welcomed their first child with the help of a surrogate. According to multiple outlets, they are parents to a daughter.
The two are yet to share pictures of the baby and have also opted not to include baby pictures in their collection of posted images from their Holi celebrations.
“To be able to find some joy at a time when the world feels so scary, it’s a blessing,” Chopra wrote on her Instagram. “Happy Holi everyone. Thank you to our friends and family for playing Holi like desi! Feeling blessed. #photodump #happyholi #goodoverevil #festivalofcolours.”
Among the images posted by the actress is an adorable video of her and Jonas kissing, with colored powder wrapped around their faces.
Chopra also shared a picture of herself lying on the deck by the side of a swimming pool, as well as a picture of herself reading a book about Holi to two children.
In another post, the actress wrote, “Do me an favor .. let’s play Holi,” referring to the name of a song from her 2005 film Waqt: The Race Against Time.
She added, “Sorry. Had to do it! #holihai.”
Jonas posted a TikTok video of himself at the party, which was set to Indian singer Arun Dev Yadav’s single “Holi Song”, showing guests playing with coloured powder and water guns and bowls of coloured popcorn in the backyard went. “Holi was lit,” the singer captioned the post.
