10 Shonen Anime with Amazing Side Characters, But a Horrible Protagonist

From a smart boy like Akame Ga Kill! In harem anime like Love Hina in Isekai Sword Art Online, this external character emerges from the main character.

They can act as characters or legends like anime boys, but not all boy anime heroes have fan favorites. In fact, sometimes the protest is true. Some boy anime protagonists are heavily criticized or subjected to racism by the audience.

For many, the brilliant protagonists do not live up to expectations. This forces the viewers to turn their faces towards anime characters who are not only patient but also better than the hero. From a smart boy like Akame Ga Kill! From harem anime like Love Hina and Rent-A-Girlfriend to pioneering Isekai on Sword Art Online, the outsiders continue to take the lead.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters — The Other Duelists Weren’t As Forgettable As Yami/Yugi Muto

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters

Nostalgia for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters has its roots in The Abridged Series and not in real movies. Fans especially miss Yami and Yuji. In the parody of the film, Yami and Yugi both form a happy, spooky duo. In the real anime, Yami is an annoying, invincible duelist and Yugi is usually a childhood friend.

Yami and Yugi aren’t the worst players, but they are easily distracted by others. Friends like Joey, Tea, or Mai are more likely to band together to prove themselves, while legendary enemy Seto Kaiba steals the whole anime. Yami and Yugi were similar to the anime heroes in the game, so they were replaced with parodies.

Bleach — Every Other Shinigami Was More Interesting Than Ichigo Kurosaki

Bleach

As for the hero of Shonen Jump Big 3, Ichigo from Bleach is the original. When D. Luffy from One Piece and Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto became adults, Ichigo started and ended Bleach as a bad movie against friends and family. It’s this decline that pulls the same cam, from fans to manga publishers.

Worse still, Ichigo is an intuitive and haunting combination that continues Bleach’s story. Meanwhile, the Espada and Gotei 13 armies, especially Rukia and Renji, have been further enhanced in appearance, emotions, and abilities. Ichigo likes to disappear into the background of arguing young men, but another shinigami always stands out.

A Certain Magical Index — The Railgun Cast Stole Toma Kamijo’s Thunder For A Reason

A Certain Magical Index

Some forms of magic spells are the essence of military combat with some harem significance. Toma epitomizes this metaphor perfectly in his spiky hair, unwitting harem, and hero persona. It’s important to have a regular event in Academy City, but it’s not easy to make an animation that looks like Index.

It wasn’t until there was a contest, a science contest, that Thomas’ true love was observed. During Index, Toma met Misaka Mikoto and her friends. They stole the show before making news for their own animations and later for the franchise. Thomas is best when it happens once in a while, not when it’s trendy.

Highschool Of The Dead — The Other Survivors Compensated For Takashi Komuro’s Blandness

Highschool Of The Dead

Given their slimy side, the true stars of Highschool Of The Dead created and fan service. These were given by the non-main characters, Rei, Saeko, Saya, and the ladies of the main cast. If it weren’t for the Takashi gun, he’d be easily mistaken for a harem protagonist.
Highschool Of The Dead is a harem anime featuring unforgiving zombies, and the fact that Takashi is able to make that fact hard to ignore. To his credit, Takashi is heavier than most harem heroes, but his fine performances and romantic passions are overpowered by tall ladies and gimmicks.

Sword Art Online — There Were Better Gamers & Characters Than Kirito

Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online launched the worst drug addiction scene in Isekai today, and Kirito benefited from being the representative of this model. Arguably, Kirito’s clones are worse than Kirito’s, but there’s a reason these reviews were first posted on Kirito, and they can still be used even in a vacuum.

Besides the fact that Kirito was so unworthy, making every bet useless, it was like someone wanted to succeed. In Sword Art Online, Kirito’s sole purpose is to satisfy the audience with the power of fantasy, so supporting characters like Asada Shino or Kohiruimaki Karen always tell a very funny story of Isekai.

Akame Ga Kill! — Everyone Else Emphasized How Misplaced Tatsumi Was

Akame Ga Kill

Akame slew! is one of the youngest anime of the 2010s. It’s what made Tatsumi stand out for all the wrong reasons. Before joining Night Raid, Tatsumi was a high school student who traveled around the big city with dreams. Simply put, it’s better at school story than fighting anime.

Meanwhile, Tatsumi is surrounded by people like the legendary assassin Akame or reminiscent of villains like Seryu Ubiquitous. All by Akame Gakil! Achieved through self-promotion and similarity, this is the main reason Tatsumi doesn’t have enough caregivers.

Future Diary — The Other Diary Users Were More Compelling Than Yuki Amano

Future Diary

Yuki in Future Diary is a bad boy hero, but it’s not because he’s a coward. After all, his fear is exactly what will happen to the average high school student on the verge of death. Instead, Yuki’s problem is that he doesn’t keep up with the balance and is suspended. Although he refused to fight in most anime, Yuki is treated as the strongest character.

Due to the way he treated Yuki, viewers were able to turn to other users of the recording site. The other yearbook users are not only strong in looks and energy, but their tastes are higher than Yuki. Also, Yuno slowly reveals that he is the true protagonist of the future catalog, and his situation is even more dire than Yuki’s.

Darling In The FranXX — The Other Pilots Lacked Hiro & Zero Two’s Impossibly Perfect Romance

Darling In The FranXX

To Darling In the FranXX’s credit, the fans didn’t really give it to us until finally. The anime turns the riveting and unknown movie into a quick ending and big tears of Neon Genesis Evangelion. To make matters worse, the anime continued to push Hiro and Zero Two into a few perfects, much to the dismay of fans.
Historically, Hiro and Zero Two were kinda cute. However, as Darling In FranXX continued to claim that their love story was perfect enough to save the world, viewers continued to dive with the sailors of Squad 13. People like Ichigo, Goro, Kokoro, Mitsuru have aged with the return, and Hiro and Zero Two have become saccharine to some.

Love Hina — Keitaro Urashima’s Harem Was Better Off Without Him

Love Hina

For better or worse, harem (and even romance) anime has left Love Hina a lot behind. Keitaro’s hobbies have documented many hobbies that today make a harem. However, while Naru, Kitsune, Shinobu, Motoko, etc. can decide, Keitaro does not.

Keitaro has some of the most frustrating experiences a harem hero can have, along with his amazement and bad temper at finding himself in the inexplicably vile hijinks. The Love Hina women in the middle have a better reputation than the racist Keitaro, even though they themselves are the same.

Rent-A-Girlfriend — Everyone Else Wasn’t As Annoying As Kazuya Kinoshita

Rent-A-Girlfriend

The anime’s protagonist Harem has a terrible reputation for incredibly depressing and often abusive behavior, and Rent-A-Girlfriend’s Kazuya is a recent example. Not only is Kazuya a blank slate for visitors to create on their own, but Kazuya is small enough to declare him the Worst Man of 2020.

Rent-A-Girlfriend’s salute is the fourth “Young Girl”. Each of them has a reason for choosing that particular job and a desire to return to it. The fact that Chizuru, Mami, Luka and Sumi don’t have to give Kazuya, but ultimately fall into the affection trap for some viewers.
